Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Meydan website and its games (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Meydan is a free, non-commercial hobby project offering multiplayer social deduction and board games you can play with friends in the browser. The Service is provided "as is"; we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. Games in progress may be interrupted during maintenance or updates.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• You can play as a guest, with an email and password, or with your Google or Discord account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure.
• Guest accounts are temporary; if you clear your browser data you may lose access to your guest account. Creating a permanent account prevents this.
• Your display name must not impersonate others or contain insults, hate speech or obscene language.

3. Rules of conduct

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• insult, harass, threaten or discriminate against other players;
• post illegal, obscene or hateful content in chat, or disclose other people's personal information;
• cheat, attempt to access hidden game information without authorisation, exploit bugs or play with automated tools (bots);
• attempt to disrupt or overload the Service or access other people's accounts;
• use the Service for commercial purposes or to send spam.

Players can vote to remove someone who breaks the rules from a room. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

4. Your content

You are responsible for the messages you write in chat. Messages are shown only to the players in the room while it is open and are not stored permanently. You grant us permission to transmit and display this content to the extent needed to operate the Service.

5. Games and intellectual property

• Meydan's software, design and texts belong to Meydan.
• Secret Hitler is published by Goat, Wolf, & Cabbage under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence; Meydan's adaptation is offered for non-commercial purposes under the same licence.
• Codenames and other game names are trademarks of their respective owners. Meydan is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies; it offers a free fan adaptation inspired by the games' rules.
• Player portraits are from "Cyberpunk Portraits" by Hyptosis (CC0).

If you are a rights holder and believe your content is used without permission, email akadirgumusbas@gmail.com; we will review your request and remove the content where appropriate.

6. Third-party services

When you sign in with Google or Discord, those companies' own terms and privacy policies also apply. We are not responsible for outages or changes to those services.

7. Limitation of liability

Because the Service is provided free of charge and "as is", to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law we are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service (including lost data or interrupted games). This does not affect any liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Closing your account

You can stop using the Service at any time and have your account deleted by following the data deletion instructions. We reserve the right to close accounts that violate these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the current date appears at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. This does not affect any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country. For any questions: akadirgumusbas@gmail.com
